Why homeschool?
From ChristianNewsToday.com...
A survey conducted by the Home School Legal Defense Association stated that there were 225,000 students homeschooled in 1988. According to the survey by 1998 that number had risen to over 1.5 million children who were being home schooled.
According to the National Home Education Research Institute there were an estimated 1.9 to 2.4 million children from grades K to 12 home schooling during 2005-2006 in the United States.
Here is some more very encouraging news about home schooling. According to a survey of test scores conducted by the National Center for Home Education, homeschool students outperformed public school students by an average of 30 to 37 percentile points in math and reading.
The same survey also stated that the income and education level of homeschool parents did not have an effect to the success of their children.
However, there was a direct correlation between public school children's' [sic] scores with parents education and income (students with well educated and wealthier parents achieved higher scores than children of poorly educated, low-income parents.)
